The Book That Is Big, How Deep Is The Dig

The Book That Is Big, How Deep Is The Dig

Nothing ever surprises me in recovery anymore. So it does not surprise me that there is a growing trend of sponsoring out of the 12 and 12. Even through it has no precise directions how to work the steps. The 12 and 12 has some good parts and points. For instance step 4 has a […]

Hebrew National, Confessions Of A Hot Dog

by John The-Hebrew on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 9:20am ·   There just may be a few, that will try to take issue with this understanding, but since its my story, and I am the one who lived it, then what others think about it, really is none of my business. My business is to simply […]

Emergency Pack: The Triage Triangle

Triangle check-list, resentment, fear, guilt and shame-busters By Tim M.  As  found in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous The AA symbol—the triangle in the circle—represents the wholeness, the soundness of mind, body, and spirit, that comes from living inside the triangle it contains, the triangle of recovery, unity, and service. Sex Us Sex e And Sex Em

I wouldn’t recommend sex, drugs or insanity for everyone, but they’ve always worked for me.  Hunter S. Thompson I’m a heroine addict. Titrating Up from spiritual darkness or how I learned to love the higher power hyperbolic chamber of grace.

Last night at the home group it was the regular Monday night football Twelve and Twelve pass, tackle and Step study meeting. We were on the ten yard line with Step Two, a newcomer to the area, the group and, to A.A., who went by the moniker of Marlowe took the opening salvo. He was […]

Fledgling Sparrows and a Tempest in a Tea Kettle

Early on when RumRadio was taking shape I would inquire of my Sponsor Bob B and old and venerable member in good standing, alas with checkered past, both in and out of the rooms of recovery, Alas just like me. Bob had in time 34 yrs of continuous sobriety, Bob sobered up on the waterfront, […]

Spiritus Contra Spiritum

Spirit against the ravages of spirits. His craving for alcohol was the equivalent, on a low level, of the spiritual thirst of our being for wholeness, expressed in medieval language: the union with God.* Carl Jung I started off on the broad bright lit highway of ease and comfort looking for the  God of my […]

A Gift Horse With No Mouth

If the Twelve Steps are not a gift from God why have you adopted them? And if they are a gift from God why do you feel compelled to change them? Above all the grace and the gifts that Christ gives to his beloved is that of overcoming self. Francis of Assisi           […]
